VIA Rail offers tri-weekly train services west to Vancouver and east to Toronto. In addition, there is a tri-weekly service to Prince George, where the train continues to Prince Rupert after an overnight stay. The train has changed from the cheaper option to a sightseeing excursion these days. The prices have gone up and, despite the environmental pluses of rail travel, it has unfortunately become out of reach for some travelers. Call or check at the train station (888-842-7245; 607 Connaught Dr) for exact schedule and fare details.
