Lonely Planet review for The Edmonton Space & Science Centre

The Edmonton Space & Science Centre is a great place for kids. With an emphasis on interactive displays, there are a million things to discover, all under one roof. Fight crime with the latest technology, see what living on a spacecraft is all about, go on a dinosaur dig and explore what makes the human body tick. Young and old will have a blast and maybe even learn something at the same time.

For the ultimate souvenir, you can buy the naming rights of an actual star: the more you spend, the brighter it is.

The Star Theatre and exhibits make it a worthwhile visit.

    jennamarie recommends this,

I really enjoy this place. They hold some neat exhibitions throughout the year. For example, they just had one about the Titanic, which was good. They are also hosting Star Wars Identities towards the end of 2012 which is very exciting for us nerds.
The Imax is alright if you are used to Imax. I think the screens are a bit smaller than the Cineplex Imax screens but I could be wrong. They tend to offer some good educational programming which I always find interesting.
The Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre is awesome, only because it's something completely different than what you are used to. The screen is a big circular thing that goes all around and above you. Their programming is really good, ,usually involving space because the theatre is the perfect medium on which to view the stars. Give it a go. It makes for a fun day.
