Lonely Planet review for Da-De-O
The best Cajun diner this side of The Big Easy, with checkerboard floors, '50s-style booths and tunes born on the bayou. Hitch yourself up to the counter and tuck into an order of jambalaya. It's a little slice of Bourbon St in the Great White North. Go on, eat to the beat, you know you want to.

Da-De-O is just great! I go there all the time! Great Food!
jennamarie recommends this,
I just love Da-De-O. It's one of my first choices when decided where to go for dinner. The food is different than anything else you can find in Edmonton, and the atmosphere is killer. The calamari in particular is good, and the Tortilla Soup!
The Po Boys are really good as well. They also serve up local beers including the Chili Beer by Alley Kat, which you must give a go.
It is 18+ though, which may be a detraction for people for small kids, but it is sometimes nice for uni students.Good for: Groups, Couples, diner with friends or family

Try the sweet potato fries
hhalpern recommends this,
This place is hip and has a style like no other in the city. One thing that you can't leave without trying are the sweet potato fries. Sit back, relax and enjoy the whole experience.

Prepare Yourself for a Heart Attack
ajvallis recommends this,
Edmonton's better restaurants are scattered about the city, but luckily, Da De O is really conveniently located, and even better, a real gem. You walk into a fifties-eqsue diner expecting burgers and fries and a shake (that is, if you can get in the door-- people line up for this place!) to find that the menu is Cajun, complete with jambalaya. Now, I would expect the New Orleans folks would fall over laughing at what we'd accept as Cajun food, but for us in the Great White North, Da De O's fare is just plain tasty. My favourite, and the thing that'll probably land me in the hospital before my time, is the sweet potato fries. Prepare yourself for the best, crispiest, most mouth watering, flavourful fry you'll ever have, heaped to the heavens for munching delight. They sure don't skimp on portion sizing here, so be ready to take home a doggy bag, folks. Da De O is a lot of fun, and if you can get through the door (although, don't think you can take a group bigger than four through the door- the place is really narrow!), one of Edmonton's better, less pricey, less remote restaurants to visit.

Da-De-O's po'boys are awesome!!
subunit1 recommends this,
I have eated at DaDeO's on a number of occasions and the food has always been great.
Sweet potatoe fries, pulled pork po'boys.....and the ONLY dessert to have is the Banana's Foster which is made right at your table. About a pound of butter, brown sugar and a banana or two ( oh yah and some Rum too!).....make sure you split it with someone as your arteries harden at the table!Good for: Romance, atmosphere, food, Budget Travellers, Groups, Solo Travellers, service, Families
