Lonely Planet review
Banff's best hostel is near the top of Tunnel Mountain and well away from the madness of Banff Ave. Walkers will find the commute a good workout, and their efforts will not go unrewarded; the buildings are finished in classic mountain-lodge style, but without classic mountain-lodge prices.
There are clean, comfortable accommodations in bunk rooms and a few doubles, fireplaces in the common areas, and good views top it all off. The public bus runs right by the front door, so don't let the location deter you. The hostel is located off Tunnel Mountain Rd, an extension of Banff's Otter St.
Our independent authors have visited HI-Banff Alpine Centre and selected this as one of our recommended hostels in Banff Town.
