After a long day in the park, it feels wonderful to come home to this lodge in the woods. Grab a seat under the lovely vaulted ceilings by an impressive fieldstone fireplace in the lobby, or head straight for bed and the fluffy feather duvet in your well-appointed chalet.
Away from the hubbub of town, Buffalo Mountain is an warm timber-frame lodge that invites you to just chill out. The location is stupendous, built right up against the craggy peaks of Tunnel Mountain and surrounded by fresh-smelling forests of pine. Abodes come in a number of shapes and sizes, including chalets hanging perched on the edge of the mountain, and rooms in the main old lodge. All digs are spacious and modern, done up in light earth tones, and all come with fireplaces and balconies. The main lodge pays tribute to its Western heritage. There's a buffalo head mounted above a roaring fireplace made from impressive hunks of stone, and an antler chandelier hanging above handcrafted cherry-wood tables. The giant outdoor hot tub is fantastic.
