We are an old but tough travellers couple, next October we'd planned a one month journey visiting Cambodia ( starting point Siem Reap) . We'd like to improve our route adding some off beaten track destinations( coast villages included ) in order to get a better way to know the country .
Thank for your help
I have got a week off for EID next week (1st to 9th), so decided to visit Cambodia. I booked my tickets, flying in from Duabi to BKK on 1st and return on 9th BKK to DXB.
I am yet to arrange anything else for the trip. I have not booked from BKK to Cambodia, as I am not sure if I sud land Siem Reap or PP and fly out from where.
I am traveling with my wife and out two year old son. I am trying my best to gather informations, but two days and work, I am not reaching anywhere. I plan to use…
Hi everyone! I have gotten a lot of great advice over the years for different destinations, hoping to get some insight again :)
Some background: My bf and I are heading to SE Asia for 6 weeks in December/January this year. We are not scheduling or booking much in advance but would like to have a rough idea of what we're doing. We will be getting PADI certified either prior to the trip or while there (possibly in Cambodia). We're into sightseeing, history, nature, hiking, temples, but also…
My name's Sanjana and I'm in Siam Reap for the next few days.
Sorry I don't have a complete profile but this account was created right now as I have a bit of an emergency. I'm hoping to travel to Preah Vihear on Wednesday and looking for people who might be keen on going together on a day trip to share the costs of transport? If not, are there any ideas on how I can go that would be cheap, safe and can be done in a day?
My friend and I are meeting up on our travels this year and heading to Cambodia for a couple of weeks this summer. We currently have a fairly basic plan as we're not yet sure how long we'll need in each: We're flying in to Siem Reap and would like to go to Battambang and Sihanoukville before going to Phnom Penh to spend a few days before flying off.
Neither of us have been to Cambodia before, I've been reading up as best I can but different sites are contradicting each other about…
I'm looking for a particular type of beach town. Not sure if if it exists... but if it does, please let me know :)
I just spent two weeks in Thailand on a pretty intense research project, so I'm looking for a comfortable beach town where I can chill for a week or two. Ideally, it wouldn't be a crazy party-all-night hostel town, but it would be nice to have some activity going on so I have people to hang out with. Somewhere in-between crazy hostel town and sleepy middle-of-nowhere town.
Hi everyone. I will be for 4 days in Phnom Penh next week and I would like to live the real life of rural villages, rice farmers, children's and people's condition in local little villages.I'm a photographer and it's quite difficult for me to find out where to go in a range of 30/50 Km from the city. Has someone suggestions? In which direction to go? Which villages? Does someone know a local guide to suggest? (not a touristic guide, since I don't need to go to touristic places). Thanks a lot in…
We arrive in Siem Riep on Friday 1/7/16 mid-afternoon, leave on Tuesday morning 5/7/16 and intend to buy a 3 day pass late Friday (after 5.30pm) at the historic site so that we can see that day's sunset. We will have all day Saturday, Sunday and Monday to explore the site. My interests are photography generally and ancient unique historic buildings (obviously!).
Our intention is to hire a tuk-tuk for those days as my wife prefers not to cycle. My understanding is that we could utilise the same…
We visit Cambodia, part work, part holiday, and will have 2 free days in PP consisting of Tuesday 5/7 after 2pm (1/2 day), Wednesday 6/7 (full day), and Sunday 10/7 till 2.30 as we fly out at 18.30 that evening (1/2 day). The other PP days will involve working.
Cambodia's recent and ancient history interests me so I was contemplating visiting:-
1. The Killing Fields (Tuol Sleng Museum and Cheung Ek Killing Fields) - Wednesday 6/7
2. Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda (our hotel is a 10 minute walk…
I simply cannot find a clear answer to this question...
I plan on purchasing a 3 day Angkor pass, and I would like to know if I'll be able to go in the morning, stay for a while then head back into town for the afternoon, before returning to the complex in the afternoon, for example 4:30ish. Can I enter the park twice in one day? Will this use up two 'days' on my pass?
Thanks for any information anyone can provide :)
