travel to Phnom Penh Aiport, we need to be notice of the cheating of transportation in airport taxi. As you can understand from their website, normally town area only cost US$9, but the counter staff will direct give you US$12 receipt directly and insist you to get it. If you really go thru the website of airport transportation and the fare charge on the wall of counter, you need to argue with them. This is every time I make it when I reached airport as I stayed in Phnom Penh 5 years. Beside…
I am going to Phnom Penh in October 2016.
1. Need to know where to eat good foods, what else to see besides visiting Killing Fields museum, palace, etc.
2. Need to know how to get to a Homestead near the border to Vietnam?
I'll have my bike to noodle around the area and am looking for a 'nice' hotel to stay for a week. Several kilometres
distant from the town centre would work well. The $50/night splash out would be a treat.
Heading to Siem Reap for the best part of 6 days next month. Would like somewhere nice to stay, thinking resort with pool, peace and quiet, close enough to all the temples/attractions.
Everyones feedback is appreciated :)
The thread contains newspaper reports/link, statements by the family, some background, and - unfortunately - the usual stupid remarks. The latter appear a trademark of expats in Cambodia.
The hostel was in news in connection with a rape story last year which was also covered on this board.
I m not sure what to make of the…
We're going to be in Cambodia in February 2017, and the plan includes travelling from Siem Reap to Kratie. We have allowed 2 days for this, but I would appreciate suggestions about the best way of going. We don't really want to go via PP if possible, because a) it's not very direct, and b) we're going to be in PP later. Is it possible / desirable to do this in one day, and if so where should the stopover be? We're in our 60's, but on the other hand we have travelled in Asia before.
Please could someone help me with my itinerary; I will be travelling from SR to PP by bus which I have heard is a scenic ride but rather than go all the way to PP non-stop I was thinking of maybe spending 1 night somewhere on the way down just to break up the journey and see more of the country. Can anyone recommend a good stop that is scenic, and easy to commute to/from? (Pursat? Krakor? Kompong Chhnang?)
I am very much interested in seeing floating villages but presumably that…
Im flying to vietnam from thailand and planning to go out of Vietnam from phu quoc by ferry via hat tien to cambodja.
Is there any way to buy a ticket from Phu quoc to Sihanoukville from the web because i need to have a outgoing ticket from Vietnam to get in there in the first place.
We (4 adults) plan to go to Cambodia in the first week on November for 5 days excluding days we travel on. We are planning to fly in and out from Siem Reap. Definitely want to see Angkor Wat as of now. What else can we do for the 5 days? Is 5 days too much? Should we be including any other country/place in our plan?
