My boyfriend and I want to spend 5 or 6 months traveling through Cambodia (leaving in the fall returning early spring). We like to find interesting places to stay and we spend 3-4 weeks in each place before moving on. Neither one of us speaks the language and im not quite sure how to learn even the basics we need....Does anyone know where we might find a guide or is this even feasible..if so any idea where to find one or how much it would cost?
I'm also wondering the best way to travel through…
Just wondering if anyone else is going to be travelling through Cambodia during this time? ^_^
Sadly I'm on a rather tight schedule, but I'm arriving in Phnom Penh on the 28th May, and spending a couple of days there before heading up to Siem Reap.
I'm travelling solo, hopefully I'll meet other travelers in hostels, etc. but it would be good to know if anyone else will be travelling through :)
To me that is very encouraging. I like to avoid the tourists traps around the world. I enjoy exploring, spelunking, zip lines ect..........enough about me. My question would be, is the sparse posts on this site indicative of the paucity of western tourists in Cambodia?
Another area of interest for me is Lady boys. I want to interview some of them, get some pictures and write an eBook about their lives. I know there is a plethora of lady boys in Thailand. Does that also hold true of Cambodia? If…

We (2 adults three children 3,10,12) are going to Cambodia in July. We would like to go to and stay in a villages in the Battambang area for a couple of days. We have been traveling a lot all over Asia and don´t need luxury but would like to stay with af family/homestay. Any suggestions on how to plan this?
I've been searching for a decent room for our family of four in Siem Reap. It seems like most places don't accommodate four people, or the prices are pretty high, like over $120/night. Can anyone recommend some hotels to check out?
Its been a whle since our last siem reap trip.
We just want to know the current rate for
- Tuktuk rental for a day for Angkor Wat
- Taxi rate form hotel going to Thai border.
- Taxi or Shuttle rate from thai border going to bangkok.
Thank you very much to those who would be willing to share their knowledge about this concern.
