Compagnie Fluviale offers an excellent tour up to Angkor in a beautiful traditional boat with comfy cabins. On the way, it accesses small villages for a truly memorable trip. Tours leave every Monday; contact for bookings and quotes. You can buy tickets from where the boat leaves at Sisowath Quay.

Interesting and Authentic

I joined the cruise at Phnom Penh. Everyone but myself were French-speakers and had embarked at Saigon. Despite being a latecomer I was made most welcome by the French captain who was a very good host and was always making sure everything was OK.The single cabin was basic but adequate and the food was good. As we cruised up the river (two nights) towards Siem Reap a number of very interesting stops were organised at places you would never find by yourself...eg.local villages where the only tourists arrive occasionally by boat. All very well organised with no additional transfers needed...just ox carts or another short boat transfer.
It would have been better to have a mix of nationalities on board and the price was high but the reward was a unique and memorable experience.Good for: Something different
