Hi everyone. I will be for 4 days in Phnom Penh next week and I would like to live the real life of rural villages, rice farmers, children's and people's condition in local little villages.I'm a photographer and it's quite difficult for me to find out where to go in a range of 30/50 Km from the city. Has someone suggestions? In which direction to go? Which villages? Does someone know a local guide to suggest? (not a touristic guide, since I don't need to go to touristic places). Thanks a lot in…

We arrive in Siem Riep on Friday 1/7/16 mid-afternoon, leave on Tuesday morning 5/7/16 and intend to buy a 3 day pass late Friday (after 5.30pm) at the historic site so that we can see that day's sunset. We will have all day Saturday, Sunday and Monday to explore the site. My interests are photography generally and ancient unique historic buildings (obviously!).

Our intention is to hire a tuk-tuk for those days as my wife prefers not to cycle. My understanding is that we could utilise the same…

We visit Cambodia, part work, part holiday, and will have 2 free days in PP consisting of Tuesday 5/7 after 2pm (1/2 day), Wednesday 6/7 (full day), and Sunday 10/7 till 2.30 as we fly out at 18.30 that evening (1/2 day). The other PP days will involve working.

Cambodia's recent and ancient history interests me so I was contemplating visiting:-

2. Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda (our hotel is a 10 minute walk…

Hello Everyone

I simply cannot find a clear answer to this question...

I plan on purchasing a 3 day Angkor pass, and I would like to know if I'll be able to go in the morning, stay for a while then head back into town for the afternoon, before returning to the complex in the afternoon, for example 4:30ish. Can I enter the park twice in one day? Will this use up two 'days' on my pass?

Thanks for any information anyone can provide :)

We are planning a trip to Cambodia with our 8 year old and were intending to spend a few days/a week on Koh Rong. From what I have read and the photos I have seen online it looks like a beautiful, relatively quiet island but I have seen some posts on this forum suggesting it is dirty and full of people getting drunk. I would really like to hear people's recent experiences of the island, any recommendations on places to stay, or alternatives if Koh Rong is not recommended. We are in the fortunate…

Hi all, will be spending a few days in June exploring Angkor Wat with my family, including my 10 year old son. Unfortunately, he doesn't have much in the way of thin, cool pants to wear to the temples, so was hoping to pick something up when we arrive in Siem Reap. Anyone have any recommendations for cheap kid's clothes? Was thinking of looking through the stalls at the old market, but don't remember seeing any clothes for my son's age range - it seemed it it was either adult, backpacker…

Hi, has anyone caught the train from Phom Penh to Sianoukville and if so how was the experience? Was thinking about the train one way and a bus the other way.

Hi all,
I hope this hasn't already been discussed but I'm wondering if people can help me compare Chi Phat and Trapeang Roung communities. I love the sound of both. Really respect their aims. Recently I read that Chi Phat does not have wilderness/jungle close by but is more like countryside. Which is fine but if I can visit a pace that has jungle too that would be a bonus. Has anyone been to both who could do a comparison for me please. There will be 5 -7 of us going in early October this year.

Hi,

This would be my 3rd trip to Siem Reap, will be in town from 09-11 June. I would like to visit Beng Melea and/or Koh Ker (2 separate day trips). I enjoy photographing (amateur) and would travel in slow pace. Would like to ask if anyone is interested to these 2 places, so we could share the transport cost?

Thanks.
