My plan is to fly out to Bangkok late August 2017, spend about 10 days in Thailand and then make way by road into Cambodia for another 10 days before flying out to Bali to finish up before flying back to the UK. Im a 25 year old pre-op transgender female, never had any issues in the UK but am very wary of how I would be received in Cambodia, particularly as I can't find any information regarding this anywhere. Also terrified as it's my first solo backpacking trip and getting a bit overwhelmed…

Hi everyone,
I'm traveling with a friend to Siem Reap, Cambodia the end of March for only a one night two day trip. We arrive 7:30am in Siem Reap and leave the next day at 4pm. Yes, I know it's a short trip but our main trip is to Hong Kong and (Bangkok, Phuket) Thailand so visiting Siem Reap is an extra excursion. We plan to hit the ground running. We're staying at the the Park Hyatt, I've read it's good to visit Angkor Wat late or early. So before leaving we're planning to go there to catch the…

Hello! My fiancé and I planning a trip to Cambodia and Northern Thailand in late October/early November. Our main priorities are beaches, great food, anything outdoorsy, and local culture. We plan to fly in from Hanoi on about 10/22 and fly out of Bangkok on about 11/9. Those dates are relatively flexible, within a couple days on each side. My main questions are:
1. What airport should we fly into in Cambodia?
2. What beaches/islands do you recommend in Cambodia/Northern Thailand?
3. Do you have…

Travel tips?

Hello! I am travelling to Cambodia in December, with my partner (we're in our 20's), and since we've never been before, would love to hear some tips from people who are familiar over there.

We are flying in to Phnom Pehn, and thought about going to Siem Reap for a couple of days before heading to Sihanoukville. Our flight leaves from Phnom Pehn, so we have to travel back there also. We both like diving and snorkelig - are there any reccommended places near Sihanoukville - or should we go to Koh…

We just came back from Cambodia. We got 30 day tourist visas on arrival, but it was only at the end of the trip that we looked properly at them. The "issue date" was 05-Feb-2017, and the "expiry date" was 05-Mar-2017. That's not 30 days - at the most it's 29 days. Fortunately we didn't have a problem, because we were leaving on 05-Mar anyway. But what should the expiry date have been??

I hope to spend some time on Koh Rong in August while in Cambodia for a month with my husband and 9 year old daughter. I have been looking at White Beach Bungalows, Treehouse Bungalows and Paradise Bungalows as these all look like they are close to the amenities at Koh Tuch but a little bit along the beach so not right in the heart of it all. Has anyone stayed in these places? I'd welcome people's recommendations and experiences to help me decide where to stay. Other recommendations also very…

Dear fellow travellers!

I have been travelling Vietnam and I have a little bit less than 3 weeks left before I get home. Im thinking of doing a detour to Cambodia in the last week of my travels. I'd like to se Angkor wat for a day or two and then head for beaches (for relaxing and diving). Im trying to avoid overly touristy places so I was thinking of Khor Rong island (I want to see that iluminiscent plankton!). I also read some bad reviews of it already beeing flooded with tourists and highly…

Warning to Cambodia travellers!

Do not use the moto motorbike taxis at the Prek Chak border, neighbouring Ha Tien, Vietnam. This is near the Ha Tien Vegas casino.

One of the motos who works there is extremely aggressive and may try to extort money from you. It happened to my travel buddy. The moto's number plate is 1F 01 20. Tubby guy with a flick fringe, collar shirt, sunglasses and bloodshot eyes.

Watch out! Thank you.
