Lonely Planet review for Red Sun Falling
One of the liveliest little spots in town, this place kicks off when the owner puts on his party hat to play. A relaxed ambience, subtle tunes and a small bookshop by day, the kitchen turns out a solid selection of Asian and Western meals, including moist homemade brownies. By night, it's a bar and draws the drinkers.

Friendly watering hole
couderc recommends this,
A bar and restaurant with character. Apart from the food (evening specials, American breakfasts cooked by the owner right in front of you), there's music, books and loads of interesting people to talk to. Just over the road from the bus station and the Mekong river ; Red Sun Falling is open from breakfast to lunchtime, closes in the afternoon then reopens for sundowners till late. (Hours: Jan 2009) After that, quiet evening or party night, its up to you.
