I am planning on visiting Ouagadougou this weekend, crossing overland from Ghana. Ideally, I would like to cross in my Ghanaian registered car.
Does anyone know what paper work is required, how much it costs and whether having diplomatic number plates makes a difference?
I'm wondering if anyone has advice on what the best currency is to take to Burkina Faso to exchange to the local currency. I have heard that it is necessary to take Euros. Is that still the case? Does anyone have any experience exchanging US or Canadian dollars?
For those who want a visa on arrival in Burkina the price is now a whopping 92,000CFA! (Checked last night at the airport)
BANFORA - returned to Hotel de la Comoe. The owner has become a nightmare, he screamed and shouted at me when I asked to change rooms as mine was in serious disrepair & filthy at 7,000CFA. I almost walked out as many of you know I am totally used to the region but this guy has changed so much and was so abusive, I ended up in tears! I did end up in another, far better…
Possibly a bit of an odd question, I'm flying into Ouaga shortly & haven't been there for almost 2 years. Previously you could get a SIM card without registering it.
Anyone been there recently (3 months or so) & knows the current procedure? I land at midnight & need to be heading east the next morning but need to make calls en route. So ideally would like to buy one at the airport
I'm staying behind the Cathedral, so I'd need a MTN/Orange etc shop nearby if I have to buy & register a SIM card…
I'm a Swedish doctor trying to visit all the countries in the world within my life span. Have been to 169 this far.

These countries are, for obvious reasons, not very well covered by guide books and rarely visited by tourists, save the UN Peace keeper, NGO-worker and hard core globetrotter. Therefore, I decided to try…
A friend and I would like to hire a driver/guide for ~5 days to take us around Burkina Faso. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced person who speaks decent English? Thank you.
Hey guys I was wondering if it is still possible to obtain the visa for Burkina Faso at the airport in Ouagadougou. I cannot seem to get a clear answer. Hope someone can help me out as I really would like to go to BF!
Has anyone recently crossed the boarder between Ghana (Paga) and Burkina Faso (Leo) and knows how much visa's cost. Everyone says it cheaper to get a visa in Accra or Kumasi. However, as I am based in Tamale it will cost me to get to Accra/Kumasi or use a travel agent. As such, I am trying to find out the cost of the visa at the boarder.
The specific visa I am interested in is a 12 month multi-entry visa.
