I’ve just spent about six days in Burkina Faso, and I thought it might be useful to report on a couple of things that might help other travellers.
Firstly, you can still get a visa on arrival at land borders. The costs are:
24,000 CFA- Transit Visa (1-3 days)
94,000 CFA – 90-day single entry visa
122,000 CFA – 90 day multi-entry visa
I crossed into Burkina Faso from Ghana at the Tamale border, in the far NW of Ghana. It’s very easy to miss the actual frontier and cross accidentally, as I did…
We are going to Burkina from 25.12 - 3.1.
Is it necessary to book accomodation in advance - having in mind X-mas and New Year? We are going to Ouga, Bobo and Banfora?
I currently live in Cairo, Egypt and wanted to travel to Ghana but because of the horrendous tourist visa process, I'm now considering visiting Burkina Faso only as they offer Visa On Arrival (I called the BF embassy here in Cairo).
Already I have read a lot of useful information here on BF but I have a few questions:

Devastation is incredible just 200 km away from my…

I wonder if it would be beneficial for me to post the information directly, or is the link sufficient?

Visa from embassy in Bamako, Mali -- 24,000CFA (single entry) & 31,000CFA (multiple entry).
I enquired at the Bureau de Sureté de l'Etat in Bobo-Diaolasso for visa extensions, but was offered only a brand new visa, and was quoted prices double that of what you get in Bamako (48,000 and 62,000, respectively). I opted to go back to Bamako to get my new visa.
I saw at the border with Ghana that…
