Lonely Planet review
A collection of antique radios and maps greet guests in a scrubbed-clean warm entry. The well-decorated hostel keeps that warm feeling throughout - it's a tweak away from a B&B actually - as the friendly staff make the most of its small space.
Indian-style pillows sit on a small sofa in the Spanish-tile kitchen - with coffee and teas available. Dorm rooms have wardrobes to store your pack in. Staff can rent bikes out, but seem to be a little stranded from the bulk of travellers' information that busier hostels offer. The block is safe, but a little dumpy. There's a small glassed-in patio, usually filled with drying clothes.
Our independent authors have visited Kervan Hostel and selected this as one of our recommended hostels in Sofia.
