A friendly, British-run place popular with budget travellers, the Avalon has airy rooms, some with Jacuzzi, plus a restaurant serving French and Italian fare. The owners also organise local excursions. It's in the backstreets before the centre, to the left if coming from the bus/train stations (a five-minute walk).
