we are currently in Kosovo and thinking of visiting Skopje and then taking a bus to Sofia. We can probably spend up to 4 weeks in Bulgaria but do want to relax and spend up to 2 weeks relaxing on quiet beaches.
At the moment we think we will have 3 nights in Sofia and then head to Velnik Tarnovo (is there any hiking in this area). From here we were thinking of a beach on the northern part of the coast for a week and another in the south.
We have been recommend Kiten in the south as being a…
we are a family with 3 young children and we intend to come to Bulgaria for day hikes in October (6-27.10). Is there a good chance that the weather in the mountains will still be suitable for day hikes? Are the ski lifts working at this time of year? What are the villages / towns reccomended for staying with young kids in Rila mountains & Rhodope mountains area?
I'm hoping to rent a WIFI hotspot at Sofia airport, or rent it online and have it delivered to the hotel. Does anyone have experience, good or bad, doing this? Any first-hand information would be helpful.
i tried to find some info about naturist or nudist beaches around Varna, but with no luck. Do you have any info, if there is any? And eventually, where can i find it?
Hello! I'm a Chinese in Romania for volunteer work with a multiple- entrance visa. Now I plan to go traveling to Bulgaria, so can I enter there with just the Romania visa?
Thanks in advance.
I have a single entry Schengen visa from Greece and I would like to go to Bulgaria before going to Greece. I'm assuming since my visa will still be valid I should be able enter Bulgaria. Has anyone here used a single entry Schengen visa to enter Bulgaria?
Several (about four) years ago there was a regular bus connection betwen Durankulak border checkpoint and Kavarna (via Shabla). Now I cannot see this bus at http://avtogari.info/
Is it true that this bus does not operate any more? Or maybe I am wrong?
I point out that I mean not the Durankulak village, but the Durankulak GKPP (border checkpoint) which is 5-6 km away.
We'll be in Sofia for a few days and are looking for a single day hike around the lakes and the Rila Monastery.
I can't seem to find a recommended route - just that a circular route of 3-5 hours is possible starting from rilski ezera. Can anyone please share a more detailed route? Preferably with a map?
We have two vehicles available so it's also possible for us to to plan a not-circular route, starting and finishing at different spots.
Thank you very much!
Always wanted to go to Bulgaria. And as much as I love to visit the worlds second-oldest continuously-operating porcelain factory, its gonna be a week or two of debauchery in Sunny Beach.
Cant seem to find much on it here. And Im going pretty soon. Would like to know

2. Anything to look out for from hustlers, robbers etc
3. Where/if camping is permitted as a backup
4. Things to be aware of connecting from Burgas Airport, regarding transport…
