Hello !
I am a student for a year in Bulgaria and some friends and I are planning to go hiking for two days to the seven lakes this week end.
Because we are off season now it is very difficult to find the right information.
We will leave from Blagoevgrad. Do you know how to get to the lift from Blagoevgrad ? Do we have to reserve a hut or make a phone call before coming over ? Is there a way from the Rila Monastery ?
Thanks for your help !

Hello!

This time we went for the light vacation in Bulgaria, Sunny Beach.

In principle, from Bulgaria no one expected miracles and what that huge emotions, but to my surprise, I liked Bulgaria. This is a very beautiful country and there can be a great time in the company and with the family and children. It becomes clear after the first day.

Sami emotions derived from the travel began during landing because a hard landing, I had never experienced before. We have twice hit the chassis on the…

My flight gets in to Sofia airport at midnight. Does anyone know if the taxi booking office in the airport will still be open at that time?
Or can anyone recommend a transfer service that I could book in advance?
Thanks!

Hi guys
what is the best town to stay in to be able to do a day hike to the 7 lakes? We were going to base ourselves in Blagoevgrad but would it be better to be in Samokov or Dupnista or elsewhere?
thanks

I'm having a very difficult time finding a reliable route between Veliko Tarnovo and Bucharest. The bus options that I'm seeing online are showing well over 100 USD and I am not allowed to book.

Can anyone recommend a website that allows me to see actual times and costs and allows me to book? I don't mind train or mini-bus. Will be traveling one-way in late October.

Thank you, in advance.

Hi guys

we are on the black sea coast and planning our next legs. We will definitely visit Plovdiv and would like to do Melnik, we may also try and do some mountain area such as near Bankso. We are travelling by public transport.
Our next major destination is Athens towards the end of October. We have already visited Sofia and Skopje so would definitely like to visit Ohrid and if time Tirana and Berat.
Can we get from Melnik or Bankso to Ohrid without back tracking to Sofia and Skopje?
Is there an…

Hi
I am looking to travel in about a week on an early fast train from Sofia to Burgas. Because of the small price differential, we are looking to travel in first class yet the BDZ site shows only one seat left - there are two of us travelling. I can't tell if it's just a poorly designed website or if it has in fact almost sold out. There are a few seats shown in second class which makes me believe it's just busy.

Do trains on this route sell out or will I be able to turn up on the day and buy a…

Hi there

I will take an overnight bus from Ohrid to Sofia and it will be around 4 or 5 am when I reach Sofia. Next day, I will take the flight depart from Sophia at 3pm

At first, I plan to join the free walking tour (at 11 am) and free Balkan bite (at 2pm) on the 1st day I arrive.

But I found that there's 1 day tour visiting Rila Monastery. I am thinking if I should join this tour and give up free walking tour and Balkan bite on my first day? or join Rila Monastery tour on the 1st day and…

Hi guys
we are currently in Kosovo and thinking of visiting Skopje and then taking a bus to Sofia. We can probably spend up to 4 weeks in Bulgaria but do want to relax and spend up to 2 weeks relaxing on quiet beaches.
At the moment we think we will have 3 nights in Sofia and then head to Velnik Tarnovo (is there any hiking in this area). From here we were thinking of a beach on the northern part of the coast for a week and another in the south.
We have been recommend Kiten in the south as being a…

Hi,
we are a family with 3 young children and we intend to come to Bulgaria for day hikes in October (6-27.10). Is there a good chance that the weather in the mountains will still be suitable for day hikes? Are the ski lifts working at this time of year? What are the villages / towns reccomended for staying with young kids in Rila mountains & Rhodope mountains area?
Thanks!
