  1. Church of Sveti Nedelya

    The Church of Sveti Nedelya, built in 1813, was the final refuge for 2000 locals who fought the Turks in 1876. Signs of the subsequent massacre, such as bullet holes and a macabre, half-covered tomb with dozens of skulls, are gruesomely evident.

  2. Ethnological Museum

    The Ethnological Museum, one of Batak's few National Revival-period houses, contains late 19th-century costumes.

  3. History Museum

    On the square, the History Museum contains graphic displays about the 1876 April Uprising, Batak Massacre and Russo-Turkish War. The downstairs crypt lists locals who fought the Turks.
