Getting there & around

Buses run between Rio and Teresópolis every half hour from 5am to 10pm (US$8, 1½ hours). From Teresópolis, daily buses run every 1½ hours to Petrópolis. To get to the national park’s main entrance from central Teresópolis, take the hourly ‘Soberbo’ bus (US$1), or the more frequent ‘Alto’ bus to the Praçinha do Alto, then walk a short way south to the entrance.
