The 1001 bus company buses leave Rio for Saquarema every other hour between 6:15am and 8:40pm (R$15, two hours).

To get to Cabo Frio, take a local Salineira bus to Bacaxá. From there, buses depart for Cabo Frio every half-hour. The bus stop in Saquarema is across from the bridge, one block from the main square in the town center.
