Mina do Chico-Rei, or Encardadeira, is an abandoned mine. There’s little to see as you stoop through the low passageways, but it’s the perfect place to meditate on the fascinating story of Chico-Rei.

    Go for the restaurant!

    This place has fantastic food, recommended by friends from Rio. I took my friend from Belo Horizonte there and he thought it was great too. Feijoa Tropeiro was great, so was the second version on the menu but I've forgotten the name of it!
