Viação 1001 runs buses between Rio and Búzios seven times daily (R$22.90, three hours), eastbound from 6:30am to 7:30pm, westbound from 7am to 7pm. The Búzios bus station (2623 2050; Estrada da Usina Velha 444) is a simple bus stop with no building attached, five blocks south of the Armação waterfront and easily reachable on foot.

Municipal buses between Búzios and Cabo Frio (R$2.70, one hour, 20km) make regular stops along Avenida Ribeiro Dantas and Estrada da Usina, including one directly ­opposite the Rio-bound bus ­stop.
