Bus

The bus station (3249 2488; Av dos Franceses, Santo Antônio) has departures to many destinations including Belém (R$76, 12 hours, 8pm), Brasília (R$191, 26 hours, 5pm), Carolina (R$103, 17 hours, 7:30pm), Fortaleza (R$116, 20 hours, 11:30am and 4pm), Parnaíba (R$57, 11 hours, 8:30am and 8pm) and Teresina (R$46 to R$76, seven hours, seven daily). Tickets are sold at some city-center travel agencies including Babaçu Turismo (3231 4747; Av Dom Pedro II; 8am-6pm Mon-Fri, to noon Sat).
