Getting there & around
Praia do Forte is 3km off the highway. Linha Verde (3460 3636) has regular departures to Praia do Forte from Salvador’s Terminal da Calçada (R$8, 1¾ hours, 14 daily between 5am and 6pm). Buses return every 30 minutes between 7am and 6:30pm. Catuense (3450 4004) has one to three daily buses to Praia do Forte from Salvador’s bus station.
Bicycles are available for hire at Ciclo Forte (3676 0309; Alameda do Sol; per hr/day R$5/50; 7am-5pm Mon-Sat, 7am-noon Sun).
