Bus
The turnoff for Porto Seguro from Hwy BR-101 is at Eunápolis. The bus station (3288 1914) is 1.5km outside town on the road to Eunápolis. Additional buses run during high season.
São Geraldo (3288 1198) goes to São Paulo (R$175 to R$228, 26 hours, two daily), Rio (R$178, 19 hours, one daily) and Belo Horizonte (R$116 to R$156, 18 hours, two daily), and its tickets can be purchased through travel agencies in the center. Águia Branca (3288 1039) goes to Vitória (R$69 to R$99, 10 hours, two daily), Valença (R$51, nine hours, one daily), Bom Despacho (R$62, 12 hours, one daily) and Salvador (R$110 to R$140, 11 hours, two daily). Rota Sul (3288 3065) goes to Ilhéus (R$37, six hours, four daily) and shares the Itabuna (R$30, five hours, eight daily) route with Águia Branca. Brasileiro (3288 3065) goes to Itamaraju (R$17, three hours, six daily) for access to Corumbau, and Teixeira de Freitas (R$25, five hours, six daily) for access to Caravelas.
For more frequent connections, three companies run buses to Eunápolis (R$8, one hour, every 30 minutes from 5:30am to 10pm).
Air
BRA (3288 8917; airport), Gol (3268 4460; airport) and TAM (3288 3399; Av 22 de Abril 245) can connect you anywhere in Brazil from Aeroporto Internacional Porto Seguro (code BPS; 3288 1880), about 2km northeast of town. There are no buses to the airport. Taxis run to R$20.
