Getting there & away
Recife is the stepping stone to Olinda. A taxi between central Recife and Olinda is R$15.
From central Recife to Olinda’s main bus stop on Praça do Carmo, take a Pau Amarelo or Rio Doce bus from outside the Recife metro station; or a Casa Caiada bus from Av Dantas Barreto; or a Rio Doce bus westbound on Av Conde da Boa Vista. From Praça do Carmo, Rio Doce/Princesa Isabel buses go to the Recife metro station; Casa Caiada buses also go to central Recife. The Amparo bus shuttles between Av Dantas Barreto in central Recife and the street below the Igreja NS do Amparo in Olinda.
