Getting there & around
One daily bus goes between Porto Seguro and Caravelas (R$30, five hours). Otherwise, access to Caravelas is via Teixeira de Freitas, 74km east. The bus station (3297 1151) is in the center of town. Brasileiro goes to Teixeira de Freitas via Alcobaça (R$11, two hours, five daily).
Local buses do a round trip between Caravelas and the neighboring village of Barra (providing access to Praia Grauçá), leaving every 30 minutes from 6:30am until 10:30pm.
