Getting there & away
Buses travel twice daily along a reasonable dirt road (keep an eye out for grazing buffalo) between Trancoso and Caraíva (R$10, two hours). The bus stops on the far side of the river in Caraíva, where small dugout canoes ferry passengers across to the village (R$2.50).
There is no road south along the coast from Caraíva.
If heading for other destinations north or south, catch the daily bus to Eunápolis via Itabela, both on Hwy BR-101.
