Getting there & away
From Valença, passenger ferries for Boipeba (R$10, four hours) leave daily Monday to Saturday (currently at noon). Two daily buses (11am and 2pm) leave Valença for Torrinhas, where passengers are transferred to a ferry for Boipeba (R$9, bus and ferry 2½ hours). Ferries stop first at the historic town of Cairu, a recommended stopover if you can catch a later boat on to Boipeba.
From Morro de São Paulo, options are to negotiate a boat ride with tour providers, or take a jeep (R$50) and then the ferry across the river.
