Land
Bus
Most long-distance buses leave from the Rodoviária Nova (New Bus Station; 3259 2848), 4km east of the center.
Bonfim (3259 2788) runs three daily buses to Salvador (R$40 to R$62) along the coastal Linha Verde highway (four hours), and two along Hwy BR-101 via Entre Rios (six hours). Bonfim buses also go to Maceió (R$24 to R$36, four hours, four daily) and Penedo (R$18, three hours, one daily). Both Progresso (3259 3020) and Real Alagoas (3259 2832) go to Recife (R$68, nine hours, four daily). For further access to Penedo, catch a Santa Maria (3259 3000) bus to Neópolis (R$11, two hours, five daily) and then a ferry from there.
Coopertalse (3259 3028) and Santa Maria depart for Propriá (R$7, two hours, 10 daily) from the Rodoviária Velha (Old Bus Station; 3214 2578; Centro).
