For the benefit of everyone dropping by the Brazil branch for the first time, please read this FAQ first. And I hope there can be some sort of way to moderate the thread to keep it updated and clean. I know there are some AWESOME regular contributors here who enjoy giving advice; I feel this thread can really help to condense the information available.
I'll go first, with some general thoughts from the South America FAQ. Many thank to Apollo for starting that thread and for a great idea…

I am planning my first trip to Amazon rainforest this July 2017. I am looking for something non-touristy and unconventional and truly would love to enjoy the raw beauty of Amazon. As of now I feel Amazon Mystery Tours and Amazon Green Tours seem promising. But wanted to check if anyone has recently taken their tours and their feedback would be really helpful. Thanks!
I am heading to MG and would like to visit various jewellery and textile workshops rather than going to the tourist markets. I suspect most will be clustered around Ouro Preto and Tiradentes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Don’t use ‘Pluma Bus’ in Brazil! or use very carefully because this bus are likely to delay the arrival time as much as 3 hours 30 mins! where I lost 1370.1133USD!!!
(See the detail on my blog post(http://suma-globalian.com/2017/04/13/64/)
and I am looking for someone who can translate it into Portuguese so that I will claim to the company and Brazilian people, and also how to apply some official claim to the company???
In August of 2017 a friend and I will be visiting Rio for 3 weeks.
We've both spent the last year living in France, just out of curiosity, which areas of Rio do you find the French Brazilian community?
Also, as we're there for 3 weeks, we're looking into where we can go for a couple of days from Rio (affordably!) - we both have a passion for landscape photography and would love to include some rural, forest-style experiences, any recommendations?
We're looking into what shots are…
I would need to know if last two weeks of July are a good time to go to Buzios, Ilha Grande and Paraty. I prefer not too hit weather, not too much people and not expensive stuff.
What i wander most is if it´s neccesary to book hostels and bus/ferry tickets in advance or if it is possible to island hopping without worring about that fact.
Any suggestion would be very wellcome.
Thanks in advance and happy travels!
I travel to São Paulo for work a few times a year and try to add on some vacation time whenever possible. I've explored Rio, the Pantanal, and Bonito in past trips, and I'm planning to spend 18 days traveling solo through Bahia and Amazonas this July. I'm looking for some advice on how to divide my time between Salvador, Chapada Diamantina, and the Amazon. My current thinking is:
4 days in Salvador
4 days in Chapada Diamantina (plus a day to get there and another to get back to Salvador)
I am 20 year old Italian girl who is about to begin an amazing adventure in Rio De Janeiro. I will stay from the end of May until the end of August doing an internship in a company located in Copacabana.
I am totally excited, however I am having some problems in finding a good spot..
I am looking for a cheap private room and it seems impossible in Copacabana. I have checked Facebook groups, Airbnb, Easyquarto, Erasmsusu but nothing relevant has come up, or I even have met…
