For the benefit of everyone dropping by the Brazil branch for the first time, please read this FAQ first. And I hope there can be some sort of way to moderate the thread to keep it updated and clean. I know there are some AWESOME regular contributors here who enjoy giving advice; I feel this thread can really help to condense the information available.
I'll go first, with some general thoughts from the South America FAQ. Many thank to Apollo for starting that thread and for a great idea…
Rio de Janeiro´s beaches are justly famous the world over, with Ipanema and Copacabana capturing the world´s attention like no other other stretches of sand in the world. Flanged by verdant tress and shacks serving the perfect summery drinks makes it the most loved place. While Copacabana wins out as the most picture-perfect city beach in Rio, Ipanema is easily the more chic of the two neighboring stretches of sand
The Tijuca Forest (Portuguese: Floresta da Tijuca) is a tropical rainforest in the…
My husband and I(early thirties) are going to SA for 3 weeks in the end of September. We have flight to Buenos Aries and back from Rio. I planned Argentinian part of the trip. And now I completely stuck and need your help.
I have around 11 days to plan starting from Foz do Iguaçu. We really love green nature, tropical forests and small villages, fruits and animals. Beaches and history are of less importance to us.
So far I saved next places:
Serra Geral National Park,
We are landing Sao Luis at 5am sometime later this month (July 2017) and our plan is to visit Lencois Maranhenses. This is our first time visiting the area and only talk English :( . We are just 2 friends as of now. We only have 2 full days to do this and 3rd day early morning at 6am we have a flight back from Sao Luis, so would need to return Sao Luis on 2nd day evening itself.
Can someone please suggest options to do this trip efficiently. I was researching some posts and found these options…
Is it easy to find a good Chinese herb shop in Sao Paulo for example? Other big cities?
I see there is chain of stores called Mundo Verde that sell supplements. How stocked is it? They probably have the basics like zinc, vitamin c, multivitamins etc. Do they or other stores carry items like alpha gpc, cdp choline, rhodola, cordyceps, etc?
I wonder if any travellers here have done any similar tour in the past and would like to share their experiences. I am a keen aquarist and angler, which is one of my main reasons of visiting the Amazon in the first place. I will be sailing down the river from Pucallpa, Peru all the way to Belem, Brazil.
In the meantime, I would like to do some fishing or collecting tours. Does any one know if I can get the local companies or even a fisherman along the way to bring me out for a trip for a…
Hell guys this is not a normal request of information. I am traveling to Brazil for the first part of December and in that time I would like around 15 days to travel from rio to Puerto Velho all via bus routes Rome 2 rio has got a route of around 2 days or so. But when I go on to the bus site such as ecatur there is no known route. I understand there will be a stop in probably rondonopolis or a few on the way for connecting buses. and I am happy to do this I choose to travel in this way in…
Has anyone had experience with booking tours in the Pantanal and Bonito from a Campo Grande based agency called Eco Adventures (managed by Allisson)?
They have been very responsive so far but it would be nice to hear from people that booked with them before before commiting!
I'm going to Brazil for five weeks on Monday. My plan is to fly out to Fernando De Noronha to dive there. But in the last couple of days I've been thinking a lot about diving in the Amazon, has anyone in this forum done this before? If so, do you have any recommendations on where to go and any good operators?
