Getting there & around
From the bus station (3431 4145), about 4km from the center of Ponta Porã, frequent buses go to Campo Grande (R$49, six hours, 11 daily). There are also buses to Corumbá (R$118, 13½ hours) and Paulo (R$213, 25 hours, two daily). For Bonito, you must first travel to Jardim (R$35, 6am) and then on to Bonito (R$7, seven daily).
For Foz do Iguaçu, take a bus from the bus station on Calle Alberdi in Pedro Juan Caballero (on the Paraguayan side) to Ciudad del Este. Cuidad del Este (Paraguay) is just across the border from the Brazilian town of Foz do Iguaçu. There are daily buses to Ciudad del Este (Gs 70, 000), eight hours, three daily). You don’t need a Paraguayan visa to transit through Paraguay on your way to Foz do Iguaçu. From the same bus station in Pedro Juan Caballero, there are also buses to Asunción, the capital of Paraguay (Gs 70, 000, six hours, two daily).
