Getting around

President Juscelino Kubitschek international airport (3364 9000) is 12km south of the center. To get to the airport from the city, take a 102 or 102.1 bus (R$2, 40 minutes) from the city bus station. Conversely, catch either bus at the bus stop to your right as you exit the airport arrivals hall. A taxi to/from the airport from the center costs R$30 to R$35.

To get from the city bus station to the long-distance bus and train station, take local bus 131 (R$2).

There are car-rental agencies at Brasília’s airport and the Hotel Nacional.

Inaugurated in 2001, Metro DF (one-way ticket R$3; 6am-8pm Mon-Fri) is pretty much useless for travelers. It runs from the city bus station to the outer suburbs of Taguatinga and Samambaia.
