Getting there & away

The bus station (2643 2291; Av Júlia Kubitschek) is 2km west of the center. Buses to and from Rio, run by the 1001 bus company, leave every half hour between 5am and midnight (R$20, 2½ hours).

To Arraial do Cabo, catch Salineira bus 402 from the bus stop just to the left as you leave the bus station (R$2.70, 30 minutes). To get to Búzios, catch a bus from the stop across the road (R$2.70, one hour).
