Surf Rio information
The latest sporting novelty on the beaches of Rio is stand-up paddle boarding, a sport that's been around since the 1960s but has only recently attracted a worldwide following. Near the southern end of Copacabana, Surf Rio is one of several places on the beach where you can hire gear. If you've never tried it, Surf Rio also offers one-hour classes (R$60 per person) where you can learn the basics.
