Surf Rio information
The latest sporting novelty on the beaches of Rio is stand-up paddle boarding, a sport that's been around since the 1960s but has only recently attracted a worldwide following. Near the southern end of Copacabana, Surf Rio is one of several places on the beach where you can hire gear.
If you've never tried stand-up paddling before, Surf Rio also offers classes (R$40 per person for a half-hour lesson) where you can learn the basics.
