Tour description provided by Viator

Listen to the iconic sounds of samba as you sip your caipirinha at two popular nightclubs in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. A local guide will accompany you to the energetic neighborhood of Lapa to experience the best nightlife Rio has to offer. Enjoy a welcome drink plus optional dinner at Cachaçaria Mangue Seco, a classic bar and restaurant. Then listen to the sultry rhythms of live Brazilian bands at Rio Scenarium with two complimentary drinks. Hotel pickup and drop-off (select hotels) is included in your 5-hour tour.

Get acquainted with Lapa, one of the most energetic neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro, replete with a range of nightclubs along its colonial streets. After hotel pickup, your guide will accompany you to Cachaçaria Mangue Seco, located inside a renovated building from the end of 19th century. This classic Brazilian bar specializes in cachaça—a liqueur distilled from sugarcane—and features an extraordinary selection of top-quality brands.

Watch a presentation on how to make a caipirinha, Brazil's national cocktail, made with cachaça, sugar and lime. Then enjoy sipping your complimentary welcome drink!

If you’ve opted for the dinner upgrade, you’ll be served in the onsite restaurant. Delve into the tangy flavors of a local dish known as moqueca, a stew that hails from the coastal state of Bahia. Enjoy fish cooked in coconut milk, tomatoes, onions and garlic—served along with rice and farofa (fried manioc flour fried in dendê palm oil). In case you’re not a fan of traditional Brazilian food, you can choose the filet mignon or chicken instead.

If you didn't choose the dinner option, you can enjoy more time at the bar, socializing with locals and taking in the friendly ambiance. Afterward, walk with your guide across the street to the Rio Scenarium, a charming and eclectic mixture of antique shop and casa de shows (literally translated as show house), where Brazilian bands play live music in a spacious venue that covers three floors. Enjoy two complimentary drinks (beer or soft drink) as you listen to musicians play, and socialize with a friendly mix of locals and travelers amid the vintage décor.

During the show at Rio Scenarium, you might hear Brazilian jazz, choro instrumentals or the sensuous sounds of bossa nova and samba classics. Get your groove on with remixes of MBP (Brazilian pop music) or try your footwork with forró. After five hours immersed in Rio's nightlife, your guide will drop you off at your hotel.
