Getting there & around
Angra’s bus station (3365 1280; Largo da Lapa) is northeast of the center. Costa Verde buses leave for Rio (R$31, 2½ hours) every hour from 4am to 10:45pm daily, while Colitur buses run to Paraty (R$7, two hours) at least hourly from 6am to 11pm daily.
During high season and on weekends the Costa Verde bus line that runs between Angra and Rio will have a bus idling at the Angra docks to greet ferries returning from Ilha Grande, reservations not needed. If that bus fills up (very likely) before you can get in line, walk out to the main road from the dock and turn right, heading up the road until you see a plaza. Costa Verde buses to Rio stop here, as do local buses to Paraty. You don’t have to double back to the bus station itself.
