where to go

I am going to Greece with my girlfriend. I have more time than she does so I plan on flying to the Balkan 2 weeks earlier, around May 23rd, and then traveling by land to meet her in Athens. I bought the LP Southern Europe book, though it is not as informative as I would like about bus times. I like to play it by ear when traveling and I find bus more flexible than train. From the LP it looks like I might not need bus reservations since it will not be the peak season. I was looking for…

Where to listen Sevdah in Mostar?

Hello all! I would like to know where can I go to listen to some sevdah music in Mostar (or in other locations, but preferably in Mostar). When I visited a few years ago I was very lucky: a local friend told me it would not be possible as there are no live performances regularly but we went out for a drink and by sheer luck the band playing in the venue ended with a few sevdah songs. This time I would love to go to a place knowing some sevdah would be heard.

Hi all,

We would ideally like to drive from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik (via Mostar) - but would also be willing to hire a taxi/driver for the relevant days.

Can anyone recommend a rental car company that is open to this? The standard ones are coming up at exorbitant prices (I presume due to the Croatia drop off)

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a taxi company/driver service? With any idea of prices?

Thanks!!

concerns about Schengen zone visa

Hi, I'm thinking of traveling to the Balkans after having already spent 3 months in Spain. I'm an American, and with my passport I can stay in the Schengen Zone for a maximum of 90 days. If I travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina (which is not part of the EU) and try crossing into Croatia (which is part of the EU) by bus or train, do you think there is a chance of being denied entry (or affecting future travel in Europe)?

Sarajevo to Montenegro

Hey friends!

I'm planning some adventures through Croatia, BiH, Montenegro and possible Serbia in April - May this year. I've written an itinerary as far as Sarajevo but am having trouble finding info on transport onwards to Budva or Kotor. I'm not particularly keen to head to Podgorica and I'll already have been to Dubrovnik (would like to avoid back-tracking) so was wondering if anyone knew if a Sarajevo to Budva or Kotor journey was possible? I'd asked the hostel I'm looking at and they said…

I'm planning on going to Bosnia and Herzegovina in September and want to go to Montenegro and Albania whilst I'm there. I have about two weeks holiday time so plenty of time to visit the 3 capitals. Just wondering what is the best way to travel between the countries? Also, are all 3 worth visiting? I'd love to get any tips. Thanks =)

Hello,
Advice re driving from SJJ across Sarajevo to Mokra Gora area of Serbia in late April, early May in a rental car.
Would appreciate advice on best route, time enroute, road quality, border issues and other advice? Will lodging possibly be an issue given Orthodox Easter? Thanks & Happy New Year.

Hello, unfortunately my bus today was cancelled and I have to take another bus, that does not take me to the city center but to the eastern busstation in Sarajevo.
So in order not to get ripped of by taxi's. What is a normal price to get from this busstation to Jahorina?
Can I arrange a fixed price with a taxi driver?

Also is there an ATM in the area?

Thank you,

Alex
