Comfortable fit and provides good protection
I purchased these with the intent of using them to cushion my fall while taking snowboarding lessons. They came in handy because I took many a fall but the tailbone padding could have been a little thicker. The hip padding is sufficient. It did save my butt literally though and I'm glad I made the purchase.

No help on impact
I wore this pair of shorts to snowboarding and it did not help the impact on the tail bone. The material is too small and not padded enough from falling heel side on a snow board. I would suggest looking into other brands like demon snow for impact shorts.
