Engineered for the biting cold of mountaineering and climbing adventures, The North Face Plasma Thermal Jacket for Women is a waterproof, breathable, seam-sealed jacket with exceptionally light weight insulation. Tackling the worst of conditions, this toasty warm winter jacket keeps athletes warm in brutal weather at high altitudes thanks to its lightweight, compressible, low bulk PrimaLoft One insulation. Part of the TNF Summit Series, its HyVent Alpha outer shell fabric keeps the elements out, while allowing sweaty moisture to escape from within. This thermal jacket's fully adjustable and removable hood with laminated brim slides easily over your hat or helmet for full weather protection, as its Tricot-lined collar adds non-chafing comfort and pit zips vent excess body heat. Performance fitting, the TNF Women's Plasma Thermal Jacket also gives plenty of essentials stashing options with its Napoleon chest pocket, internal security zip pocket, and two digit warming hand pockets.

Solid Performer
Good jacket. Typical of TNF quality and fit. Careful, the white/light grey color scheme is actually more like white/carbon. A great jacket for the ski slopes or light mountaineering.
This jacket is extremely lightweight for the warmth it provides. Taking out of the package, I thought it felt more like a thick raincoat...but after trying it on, I began to overheat (indoors) pretty quickly. I've had it for about a month and a half now and am very happy with the purchase. It doesn't get very cold where I live, but I can say that it does its job in temps down to the mid 30s (with just a t-shirt on underneath). I would have to guess that a couple layers along with this jacket would keep you warm in freezing temps. Fit: I'm 5' 9", 125 lbs and a small fits perfectly. My height is mostly in my legs though...if my arms were any longer, I'd probably go with a medium just for the sleeve length.
great for subzero temp
I wore this jacket with just a cotton sweater underneath while it was -19 F out, and i felt just fine! This is my first winter ever, and I came from a tropical country! This jacket lessens my regret in ever moving to Minnesota. :-)
Second Time Around
I purchased a North Face Plasma jacket a couple of years ago and have been extremely pleased with it. I absolutely love the perma loft insulation. The jacket is waterproof and warm in the coldest of weather and is extremely lightweight. It is so nice going out in the winter without having to put a really heavy jacket on in order to keep warm. I live in an area that is pretty cold in the winter time and I like to wear sweatshirts a lot. I purchased the second jacket in a bigger size so that I could easily slide it over my sweatshirts should I want to wear one wherever I am going. The smaller size is perfect for when I'm out shopping. It provides me with warmth when I'm outdoors, but I'm not a sweatball when I'm walking around in the store. I LOVE both my jackets!
Great Jacket!
If you are looking for a WARM jacket this is it. It definitely keeps you warm and its not heavy. The perfect winter jacket with a ton of pockets which I love.
