Great investment for frequent traveler
These pants are very lightweight and pack small, which is a great bonus for a traveler/hiker who has limited packing space. The leg zippers come on and off smoothly and easily. I did not follow advice of other reviews to order one size up, I am a size 8 and ordered size 8 and they fit fine..keep in mind the waist stretches a little. I ordered pants with short legs, which is good for wearing with sandals, they don't drag on the ground (I'm 5'4"). The material in these pants is similar to athletic pant or track suit bottoms. Comfortable enough to hike, or even sleep in. I have tried some other brands of [con-vert]ible pants, like the Columbia Omni Dry Explorers, and sent them back. North Face is the best brand for [con-vert]ible pants, in my opinion.

great cool pant....sized too large
this is a great pant that will keep your legs covered yet cool during those hotter hiking days. They are sized large though and I would get a size smaller than you you normally wear.

Great Pants
I loved everything about these pants, especially the fit. The only things I would have liked to see was a built in belt and zippers or velcro at the bottom so that they could fit over boots instead of having to take your boots off everytime you removed the lower portion pant legs.

Too long
These were nice pants, and the fit in the waist and hips was good, but how short does one have to be to be considered SHORT? These pants were at least 3 inches too long. Too bad, because I really did like them.
