very...hybrid!!
My foot size is 8 with a high instep. The flexibility of the uppers took care of the high instep and the E width is comfortable for me but if you have a wider foot I'd go to a style that can accommodate your wider width. Buy your proper shoe width and you'll be a happier person all day long. Wear a thin sock and everyone will think your wearing sneakers. Perfect!

Hedgefrog Water Shoe
These are very comfortable and light. Just slightly rough on the inside top of foot area. Appears to be made very well. Have not tested them in the water yet.

Beautiful and functional
High marks for the Hedgefrog's comfort, ease of use, and attractiveness. Very well-cusioned but lightweight. Retains heat like an enclosed shoe. I'd advise ordering 1/2 size up for sure. Not recommended for wide feet because it is a true "medium" width.
