Excellent for four-season use and any outdoor adventure that risks hunkering down in inhospitable conditions, The North Face VE 25 is the most popular expedition tent made by The North Face. With a trail weight of 9 lbs, 12 oz, it's considerably lighter than most tents in the expedition line and it offers more space than the two-person Mountain 25 tent (many mountaineers opt for the advantage of a three-person tent for two people because they can capitalize on a little more space when they're hunkered down and waiting out storms). Like many of the best designed mountaineering tents, the VE 25 has an integrated polyurethane view window that's cold tested to -60F so you can check on the weather without compromising any of the warmth inside the tent. If things get too muggy, unzip the adjustable mesh vents for bug-free cross ventilation. The guy-out points are numerous enough to weather big blows and the no-stretch Kevlar guylines with camming adjustments are ideal for pitching in open spaces. The VE 25 comes with internal storage pockets for gear, but if you really want to organize (and possibly dry out) your mountaineering and backpacking gear, get the fully-compatible #2 Gear Loft from The North Face.

Bomb proof
I have been using mine since 1987! I cannot destroy this tent. Northwest Territories, High Peaks region of the Adirondacks, a month in the New Mexico dessert, Colorado, numerous treks and pack trips - no failures of any kind to report.
Excellent
The North Face VE 25 Tent is like a Toyota for us! They are dependable, completely functional pleasing to the eye and gentle on the landscape. Quality sells itself. Thank you for continuing to make a reliable and comfortable haven.
Excellent tent, very durable
A great tent. We bought it 14 years ago in 1994 and we used it a lot, in Holland, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia to Ghana and Mali. It is spacious. The service of TNF is very good, without any costs they repaired one of the sleeves when the tent was damaged in a storm in the Alps in Switzerland, even a zipper was repaired after 8 years or so. The only disadvantage is its weigth, and the improved models are even heavier....
excellent tent
I am leaving in lebanon, and I get my Ve25 tent 6 years ago,and camped during snow storm with 50 cm of snow on the roof, and hot days using only the tent. This tent is excellent for 2 even good for 3, stand high winds and is very waterproof and well ventilated.Easy to mount and dismount.Rough enough to be mounted on a harsh ground.Usually I divided it between two backpackers, this tent is not light but light enough for going everywhere with it.
Excellent Design As Usual
This "new" VE 25 is excellent as a backcountry tent. Entry and exit is easy. Huge amount of room for 2 people and all gear. Side pockets running length of tent and overhead are excellent for all sorts of in-tent and around-camp little items. Vents with/without (selectable) screen in tent peak is excellent for ventiation. Too tight for 3 large adults (6-footer), comfortable for 3 smaller size (5-footer). For 2 people (6-foot, 5-10), it is perfect. We owned a mid-80's version of VE25 that survived almost 20 years of desert, mountains and everything in between on countless backcountry trips. It stood up to strong wind, snow and pouring rain. It was our workhorse. Having tried 4 different tents of equal cost from 2 different manufacturers since 1998, we are glad to be "home" with the Northface VE25 again. This new one seems ready to serve us for the next 20 years, knock on wood.
