versitile and a great buy
Ive been searching for a durable pair of cargo pants for some time and the Mt. Rainier Surplus Pant definitely foot the bill. Most of whats out there currently is lightweight nylon and Im happy to have finally found a sturdy canvas version. Patch pockets button shut, no silly Velcro. Fit provides for plenty of range of motion without being baggy. Fabric is sturdy but washed to a nice softness right out the box. Equally suited for light-to-moderate outdoor activities and casual wear.
Great pants for the price
Compared to other cargo pants I own these are by far the best quality for the price. The material is quality twill and the fit is true to size and comfortable. They are versatile in that I can wear them outdoors or as daily wear.
Great Pants
I've got a couple pairs these pants in different colors and wear them fairly regularly. Very comfortable, look nice, and seem to be holding up after a few months.
Nice pants
Overall this is a really good pair of pants. Great fit that's true to size, good value and above average construction quality you'd expect with a product from North Face. My only issue is they tend to be a bit baggy at the ankle. No taper and almost a bell bottom (not flared) type look. I would not hesitate to purchase another pair.
wish they'd had odd number sizes
I love the texture which is soft and comfortable and the cargo pocket position which does not let pockets hang down. I had to purchase 34 inch for waist size as they don't have odd size. I usually wear 33 inch size: the pair felt a little too big. I hope the pair will be a little shrink after the wash. But other than that, the pants seem to be perfect choice for outdoor pants. I've worn Mountain Khakis and Patagonia for pants, but I would like to consider NF for pants from now on.
