Great pair of pants
These pants are very comfortable for cool evenings and mornings. I tired the M para pants by North Face but found them too heavy for Florida. The weight of the Horizon model is ideal. I also think the grey color looks better in a convertible pant than the khaki/beige.

Functional and Stylish
I've been looking for the perfect pair of multi-duty trekking pants for sometime and I must say that TNF's Horizon convertible pant has really fit the bill. I've used these pants from everything to camping, hiking, climbing and kayaking and they have performed wonderfully as a comfortable and functional pair of convertible pants. They dry quickly and the hardware is top notch. I only wished they kept some of the elastic and fabric looping used in last year's TNF Horizon short for latching on more gear. I am 5'8" 150lbs and typically wear a 32x30 and the Medium-Short fits me perfectly.

great pants
I have several North Face Paramount convertible pants and the Horizon convertible pants are the same great pants but the fabric is thinner. This makes it more comfortable when it's hot outside. Be careful about size as they seem to be made small (I usually wear XL North Face Paramount pants but the Horizon XL pants were too tight and I had to reorder for an XXL). Otherwise, I love 'em.

Good quality
Good quality pants, but I miss the pocket layout and fit of the predecessor, the Meridian style. As mentioned, the Horizon is tighter on the thigh/butt area (I have a small butt, too!), which is too bad. No, I haven't gained any weight. I also tried on the large size locally, and they're much too big. Otherwise, I'd be ordering a pair of the asphalt gray. "As fault." What a coincidence!

Started off Great
Loved the feel and color. Color coded zippers made it easy to rematch the legs after they had been unzipped. They are a little tight in the thigh which led to the crotch splitting after only three weeks. If it wasn't for the crotch splitting so soon, they would have been the perfect convertible pants.
