Excellent!
After rolling my ankle once to many times both on and off trail, I spent days searching for a boot with excellent ankle support that was built with enough cushioning and foot support for my 200+ pound frame and I kept coming back to these. I have put about 50 very rigorous, rocky, wet, and steep miles on these boots and they are definitely awesome. The ankle support is awesome; I have been in several situations where I could feel my ankle start to roll and this boot stopped it immediately. The tread is excellent whether it be on cold slick rocks or warm wet trails. I hike near, on, and over 20+ waterfalls every week and my other boots were constantly slipping, but not these. I have been caught off guard several times on slippery rock areas and was in the middle of split second mental preparations to begin sliding when I realized that these boots were holding me perfectly in place. In water they are truly waterproof, unlike many products that claim to be waterproof, these really do keep the water out. I have even been in water deeper than the boot is tall and the majority of the time my feet still dont get wet, it shocks the hell out of me every time. As far as arch support, I cannot comment, as I have completely flat feet, so no boots have enough arch support for me, but these dont seem to have any less support than a standard boot. These boots are so good, that while Im prepared to spend more on a pair of boots to use on the Appalachian Trail, I honestly have not been able to find anything that tops them. As long as they will be warm enough (they are not insulated), they will be coming with me. In fact, these boots are so comfortable, that more and more I have been wearing them out as casual shoes when off trail too. Oh, did I mention that they clean up well and dry REALLY fast?!

A superb hiking boot
I just hiked a modest but strenuous section of the Appellation Trail from Clingmans Dome south to Fontanna Dam. The boots, especially the ankle support, provided superb support and comfort over some pretty rugged up and down terrain. Hiking feet dry through the clouds and several extended downpours was a good test of their waterproof capability. I found the Dhaulagiri GTX to be a comfortable light weight waterproof boot that required very little break-in time; in short a superb hiking boot.

awsome
I have had them for only 24 hours. I am working on breaking them in around the house and in the yard. They feel really good and I like the ankle support. I would recommend these boots. I cant wait to get out on the trails with them.
