Walking out to the crag with your buddies on an autumn day, it begins to drizzle so you pull out The North Face Men's Apex Bionic Jacket and you're instantly gratified at the soft, cozy warmth this soft shell jacket wraps around you. Made from TNF Apex ClimateBlock fabric, this soft shell jacket is tougher than a nylon windbreaker and has amazing stretch so you can climb with it and not worry about snagging it on the rock. Windproof and water resistant, it remains breathable so you can bring it on a cross country ski trip, out for a day of snowshoeing and on any winter adventure where mid-levels of activity are involved. The cozy fleece lining feels awesome when you wear it over a T-shirt and it wicks moisture and dries out quickly to keep you warm, dry and comfy.
Velcro tabs at the sleeves and a drawcord at the hem seal out cold drafts while 2 zippered handwarmer pockets and a Napoleon chest pocket stash keys, map, snacks and other small essentials. Wear it as a warm outer layer on a summer backpacking trip, the standard fit allows for a little layering underneath. When your summer playground gets blanketed in white, wear it underneath your weatherproof winter shell for some extra warmth. Designed for the wilderness but classy enough that you can rock it in town with jeans, The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket is a versatile piece that you'll grab whenever you head outside.

Great Jacket
I purchased this jacked for my husband as a birthday gift. I was very happy with the quality of jacket and also that it had warm insulation. He really loves the jacket and looks great in it!
Best Product Ever
This jacket was the best purchase. I originally purchased it in 2008 and its still going strong with no wear or tear. I'm going to purchase another one only because I've "filled" out since I purchased it!
Best Bang for the buck
Excellent jacket, I only have it for a few weeks. It's definitely wind proof and waterproof. Thin and yet wind proof, that's why I choose NorthFace. I particular didn't like the feel of the outer layer at first, but grown to more accustom to it (I guess polyester is the only way to water proof things on the outside). Inner layer is soft with fleece and mesh. Liked the outer chest pocket, but there is no inner pocket anywhere. As always there are velco straps at the wrist and string pulleys at the bottom to tighten the jacket to keep the wind out...but none for the neck area.
Great Jacket
I have owned my apex bionic jacket for 2 years & have been impressed with it over & over again. It is very windproof & water resistant as long as you keep it clean & keep the DWR intact. I work outside & am an avid outdoorsman & wear this jacket about everyday in the spring & fall. It works great as an outer layer on those cool, breezy days. It completely blocks any wind & works well against light sprinkles & light snow. When the rain comes down a little harder, it works great as a layer under my hardshell. With it being so windproof, there is a trade-off of not breathing very well, so I don't wear it when the temps are >60 degrees F and I know I'm going to be active. I am 6', 210 lbs (athletic build) & purchased an XL- fits great with room underneath for layering on cold days. The only negative I can find is- I carry a medical bag at work & a backpack on hikes & the shoulders seemed to show signs of wear fairly quickly where the straps rub. I've owned other softshells that are more durable, but none that look as good. Overall, this jacket fits great, looks very stylish, & is very functional.
Perfect "Go-To" Jacket
I have owned northface fleeces for years and years. This is my first soft shell type of northface jacket, and I must say that it rocks. It has no-nonsense styling. Medium fits perfect for me, 5'11" 145lbs. It has room for a base layer, but does not feel too big. The zippers and velcro are of the highest quality. This is one of my favorite jackets... ever.
