In the past the most durable freestyle/freeride pants seemed to be the stuff made for snowboarders. That's fine for some, but most of us want tough, weatherproof pants with a little more ski functionality and a lot less fleece padding in the seat. Luckily for us, Spyder designed this Gore-Tex Outturn Shell Pant. It's an ideal shell pant for expert skiers who want ski-functionality with the same sort of rugged reinforcement found on the snowboarding outerwear. The Outturn Gore-Tex Pant is part of Spyder's Big Mountain Collection, a line of outerwear developed for extreme skiers and avid freestylers who tend to push the boundaries of human performance and fabric durability. Spyder applied a durable Gore-Tex Performance Shell polyester material that's fully waterproof, windproof and moderately breathable. The outer fabric keeps this shell pant dry on the inside without fraying and tearing through seasons of abuse. We like the waist adjuster Velcro tabs because you can opt for a range of layers without worrying about the fit--so make sure that you size it right.
